How do I whitelist for SpamAssassin?
Solution

If you're using SpamAssassin to filter your incoming e-mail and you have access to the configuration files, you can exempt our email addresses from the filtering process. (If someone else manages your e-mail system, you might not have access. In that case, you’ll have to ask them to do the whitelisting for you.) You’re going to want to add our From address to the Whitelist in your User Preferences.

  • First, get the From address from your most recent email from us.
  • Search your hard drive for the spamassassin folder.
  • In that folder, look for a file named user_prefs. If there’s no such file, you’ll need to create one. The instructions for how to do that are too long to put here. You can find them at:
    http://spamassassin.apache.org/full/3.2.x/doc/Mail_SpamAssassin_Conf.html

(Note: Like all web pages, this one is sometimes moved. If it’s not at this URL, you should be able to find it by searching the apache.org site for the SpamAssassin User Preferences.)

  • Open user_prefs with a text editor (Notepad, for example).
  • Make a new, blank line in the file.
  • On your new line, enter the text whitelist_from, followed by a space, then the From address from your most recent email from us.
  • Save the file and close it.

Thanks for whitelisting Resale Enterprises.
